In 1981, Treescape was created with little more than a Volkswagen Beetle and a couple of chainsaws to remove or prune trees and trim hedges. Today, Treescape employs over 600 people throughout Australasia. As certified tree arborists and environmental consultants, our goal is to lead the way in Green Asset Management throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Our People
Treescape’s founding partners, Ed Chignell and Brandon Whiddett, set out to deliver a tailored tree service that consistently exceeded their customers’ expectations. Today, Treescape’s range of services has grown, expanded and diversified significantly.
Treescape Australia opened its doors in 2006, servicing significant contracts in Queensland and New South Wales.
Treescape proudly encourages the development and promotion of our talented staff into more senior roles within the business. As qualified arboriculture consultants and specialists in Green Asset Management, there is ample choice for new employee working locations and the ability to develop specialist skills in a wide variety of areas. Treescape’s employee retention is high, especially as staff start moving up the career ladder.
Treescape often celebrates the success of its employees who compete at annual Arboricultural Association Climbing Competitions in New Zealand and Australia, where staff regularly secure first and second place titles.
New Zealand Support Offce
Treescape’s main Support Office is located in Otahuhu, Auckland, New Zealand. The Otahuhu depot houses many administrative and management functions, including staff training and competency, fleet and plant management, safety and wellbeing, finance, accounts and IT, and much more. Otahuhu is also home to Treescape’s fabrication workshop, where new plant and equipment is designed and built.
Australia's Support Office
Treescape Australia’s Support Office is located in Wacol, Brisbane, Australia. The Wacol depot is the port of call for administrative and management functions, and like the Otahuhu depot, has many crews operating out of this location. Wacol also has an onsite fabrication workshop, where new plant and equipment is designed and built.
How Treescape’s Depots Work Together
Each Treescape depot is lead by a regional manager, whose job it is to oversee the work that is carried out in their district, or under their key contracts (which could cover vast areas). Each depot may deliver multiple services relating to green asset management, carried out from the one location.
Managers often work together to ensure the best solution is created for our clients, which often involves working together to create a unique solution, bringing together the expertise and equipment from a variety of locations.
